The VW golf IV obtains the improvement appearance from Mattig

There are no shortages of Golf IVs on the road and German styling tuner, Mattig, has got an all new kit for it. The center point of the kit is the Audi single frame grill integration with front fascia plus hood extensions for that angry eyebrow look. The headlamps housings get the black paint treatment with chrome xenon lamp hardware. Side mirrors get integrated turn signals while the clear lens tailamps get LEDs. Side skirts and the rear fascia are modestly trimmed with 4 pipe exhaust tips cleanly sitting within. Lastly, the 5-piece rear roof spoiler completes the look.

2010 Dodge Charger Concept

Whilst under the DaimlerChrysler Corporation the Dodge Charger was rescued from obscurity and relaunched with a brand new model in 2006 following its debut at the Chicago Auto Show. Sales figures have so far proved to be positive but there have been lingering rumours circling the internet that it could well be axed as it competes with Crysler's other full-size vegicle – the 300. If the boffins at the Pentastar do decide to continue with the Charger, development should be well under way for an all new model for launch possibly in 2012 or 2013.

As a helping hand for the next generation model we present a series of renderings of the 2010 Dodge Charger Concept – the brain child of artist/designer/illustrator Michael Leonhard.

“The Dodge Charger is a muscle car legend. The sound of the 1968-1970 Charger was my starting point to rebirth/redesign the legendary Dodge Charger for 2010. A bad-ass two-door Coupe that pays Homage to the days using the design characteristics and styling cues from the original with a touch of 21st century refreshment. Modern and futuristic incorporating today's styling and design standards. The result is a car that could rule the road like Darth Vader rules outer space." commented Leonard.

We have given the renderings a thumbs up in the WCF office, let us know what you think of them below.

Alfa Romeo Boss Confirms SUV by 2010

In an interview with Auto Motor & Sport, Alfa Romeo CEO Luca de Meo confirms that Alfa is readying an SUV for the Italian marque. Because if Alfa Romeo wants to be a global player rather than a Euro-brand they need an SUV in the line-up.

The entire Alfa range will see some changes over the next few years, starting with this year's Mi.To, to be followed in 2009 by a new 147 and then in 2010 Alfa Romeo hopes to launch their first SUV, internally referred to as CX-over. The new SUV could be based on the 2003 Kamal Concept.

Furthermore, the Italian marque wants to start offering a start-stop-system by 2009/2010 to appease the green lobby, but Luca de Meo said that Alfa will not become a Eco-brand. Alfa may leech some hybrid technologies from mother company Fiat in the future.

SUV will be based on the future 149

First of all, our spy photographers have managed to capture the future Alfa Romeo SUV undergoing tests under the body of an old Fiat Palio Weekend. This week, Luca de Meo, Alfa’s CEO, confirmed to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport the Milanese brand will have its SUV. Least, but not last, Infomotori.com brings us the information that the SUV will be based on the future 149, placing the Alfa CXover, as it is called internally, in the fastest growing SUV segment, the same one were Renault Koleos, VW Tiguan, Ford Kuga, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLK and BMW X3 are already fighting for the preference of consumers. Although Porsche denies it, we also expect to see the Roxster in the market within the next couple years.

De Meo also confirmed the CXover will appear by 2010 in order to allow Alfa Romeo to become a global player. One could read that as an obvious remark: since the Cuore Sportivo brand wants to get back to the USA, and wants to stay there for good, it will need to enter the SUV segment, which is very popular in the biggest car market of the world.

Infomotori.com estimates the CXover will be 4.4 m long, 1.8 m wide and will have LED headlights and taillights, as well as 20-inch wheels. A 2-litre petrol turbo engine with direct injection pumping out 300 bhp is said to be the responsible for moving the future Italian SUV, which will also count on a permanent all wheel drive system that send 60% of power to the rear wheels and 40% to the front wheels, varying that proportion according to grip conditions. In other words, an SUV with sportive ambitions and behavior. If it also looks as good as the Kamal and the renderings, these ambitions may be fulfilled.

New Renault Mégane III

After the French magazine Auto Plus revealed exclusive pictures of the new Renault Mégane III, little was left for the imagination of this car fans, but the pictures were not very clear. In order to compensate this deficiency, our colleagues at Infomotori.com have worked on the renderings they kindly authorized us to reproduce here. And, besides praising the nice work our Italian friends have done to uncover the new French car, expected to be presented at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, we can confirm many of its new features.

The main one is the choice for a more conservative design, something fundamental for a company with very ambitious growing targets. Bets can be done in less competitive car market segments, if they can be done at all. Therefore, the design of the new Mégane resembles the one already used in Laguna and Twingo, first presented by Mégane Coupé Concept. Future vehicles are likely to adopt the same styling cues, such as the headlights and the front fascia.

There is still doubt about the size of the new hatchback, but it will come in three and five door versions, as well as a sedan and a station wagon. Engines will probably remain the same, or else, 1.4-litre, 1.6-litre and 2-litre petrol engines and 1.5-litre and 2-litre diesel engines, all four cylindres. The flagship, according to Infomotori.com, will probably feature a 2-litre turbo able to deliver 225 bhp. Prices will range from less than € 15,000 up to about € 30,000. Sales will take place soon after the presentation.
